BitGo Custody Assets Surge 66% to $100B in H1 2025 Amid Crypto Institutionalization
BitGo Inc. has reported a dramatic 66% increase in assets under custody, climbing from $60 billion to $100 billion in the first half of 2025. The surge reflects accelerating institutional and retail participation in digital assets, fueled by regulatory clarity and yield-seeking strategies.
"Peak retail interest and staking adoption are rewriting custody economics," said Abel Seow, BitGo's APAC vice president. Staking now constitutes half of BitGo's holdings, underscoring the demand for passive income in proof-of-stake networks.
The California-based firm has evolved from a wallet provider into a full-service crypto bank since its 2013 founding, offering trading and lending alongside custody. Its client roster now spans traditional institutions and native Web3 enterprises.
